Electronics: PCB Designers
Professional PCB designers should be thoroughly familiar with the kinds of metals, components, and specs which go into circuit boards. However, it seems like every month, new PCB components, metals, and the like are developed in the laboratory. So how can you make sure that your PCB design is state of the art, given that so much new information accrues every week?
Generally, you need not worry about esoteric PCB alloys and components unless youre trying something really experimental. In most cases, what you should worry about is how to optimize construction without sacrificing the quality of the product. Engineers have a difficult time, because they are expected to produce great products using minimal technology in the final manufacturing.
Professional PCB Designers
Given the crush of interest in PCB boards, its no surprise that the nations most prestigious computer and aeronautical manufacturers refuse to share their secrets for fabrication. After all, circuit design is more of an art than it is a science, and companies dont want to give up proprietary designs. Thus, in many cases, you may have to reinvent basic strategies for fitting more computer power on your circuits.
The process by which PCB designs are fabricated into boards can take anywhere from hours to months, depending on what kinds of drills are necessary for the construction and whether or not manufacturers need to employ specifically tailored alloys. If you can keep the manufacturer up to speed as to what you have in mind for the design, that will make life easier for everyone. However, dont sacrifice quality for price.
